Quardev's Jonathan Bach Spoke and Presented at '07 STAREAST Conference
Jon Bach, Manager for Corporate Intellect and Technical Solutions at Quardev, Inc., presented an all day workshop on Session-Based Test Management (SBTM) and gave a talk on the Top Ten Tendencies that Trap Testers during the regular sessions at the Software Testing Analysis and Review Conference (STAREAST) in May 2007.
Jon's all day workshop, on Tuesday, May 15, 2007, focused on SBTM, a test management framework that he and his brother James Bach invented. Often, exploratory testing is dismissed by project managers because it is assumed that exploratory testing is not reproducible, measurable, or accountable - the Bach brothers invented this framework specifically to address these problems. SBTM gives exploratory testing a structure, which include defined charters, metrics, and documentation that make the testing process accountable but does not take away from the creative and effective exploratory method. Additionally, Jon will presented a talk on Wednesday, May 16, 2007 on the Top Ten Tendencies that Trap Testers. This talk calls out specific behaviors that can limit success when testing and offers some creative ways to avoid these traps that can compromise effectiveness and credibility.
